Atrium Center, the first mall in Arad, opens its gates (RO)

On the 23rd March, 2010 at 17:00 Atrium Center, the first mall of the city of Arad, opens its gates. Atrium Center is a modern, elegant and quality-oriented mall of 30,000 m² GLA. The mall will serve the public with a wide range of shops including fashion, sports, electric goods, cafes, restaurants, services and entertainment. It will feature the first parking house and the first multiplex cinema of the city. Between the years 2007 to 2008 approximately 8 commercial center projects were announced in the Romanian city of Arad, five of them on the same boulevard where Atrium Center, the only one of the eight to be handed over, is standing now.

The opening of Atrium Center Arad will revitalize the economy of the city.

With respect to design, commercial functions, accessibility and visibility, we wanted to make this mall one of the best in Romania, a benchmark of its kind. Atrium Center Arad has a lettable area of 30.000 m², reflecting the expected growth of demand for retail space in the coming 5 to 7 years," declared Adina Calinescu, Country Manager of Atrium Centers.

Main features of Atrium Center Arad
The mall has five levels of parking with more than 1000 places, being also the first parking house in the city. The ground floor will host a Billa supermarket on 1850 m², as well as services, fashion shops next to big anchors such as C&A and New Yorker, both of them operating shops on the first floor as well. The first floor contains several fashion shops, sports and youth clothing. The second floor will host the food court and entertainment zone. A children's playground, a toyshop, an electrics goods and household appliances store called Altex are to be found on the same level. A billiard and bowling saloon as well as a bookstore, a stationery and an IT shop will open in May and the first multiplex cinema of Arad will open in August.

At the time of the opening ceremony, the mall will feature 50 shops with many others opening shortly after the ceremony. The latter ones include LC Waikiki on 1200 m², with trendy men's, women's and children's clothing of affordable prices. This will be the first shop of the brand in the western part of Romania. From the casual segment of the market, Jeans Club is another leading brand present in the mall with a shop of 450 m². Three of the leading Polish brands are featured: Reserved (on 900 m²), as well as two youth fashion brands, House and Cropptown. By the end of April, two new restaurants of Portuguese and Italian cuisine will open on the second floor. The bowling and billiard saloon will open in May. These are just some examples of the already rented 90% lettable area.

Cinema City will operate the biggest multiplex in Western Romania and the first such in Arad with the opening taking place at the end of August. It will feature 10 modern halls, also suitable for 3D movies. The cinema will have the most advanced sound and image technology with the most recent movies. It will surely be one of the biggest attractions of the mall. The launching period of the remaining shops will culminate around the Cinema Open
