ATP Real Estate acquires DONG Energy’s headquarters for DKK 1.9 billion (DK)

ATP Real Estate has extended its real estate portfolio in Denmark by acquiring DONG Energy’s office headquarters in Copenhagen. The investment amounts to DKK 1.9 bln (€260 mln). The property is one of Denmark’s largest office properties, a modern domicile of 84,000 m², of which 27,000 m² are underground parking facilities.

As part of the transaction a 15-year lease agreement has been signed with DONG Energy A/S as per December 30, 2013.

With 6,500 employees and a turnover in 2012 of DKK 67 bln (€9.0 bln), DONG Energy is one of the largest energy companies in Northern Europe. The Danish Government is the majority shareholder in DONG Energy A/S.

CEO in ATP Real Estate, Michael Nielsen, says: “We are very satisfied with this investment, which is perfectly in line with our strategy for real estate investments. The long lease with DONG, the high technical quality of the property as well as the prime location are all very important factors. We are looking forward to a long-time co-operation with DONG”.

With this investment ATP Real Estate continues its strategy with a focus on large modern properties let out on long leases to strong tenants. Earlier this year ATP Real Estate acquired a 46% share of the newly built UN City comprising 45,000 m² office space located in the Copenhagen harbour area.
