Aquila Capital acquires logistics development in Seville (ES)

Aquila Capital has reached another milestone in its investment strategy for the Spanish logistics sector. The company just closed the purchase of 150,000m² of logistics space in Alcalá de Guadaira, just 15 kilometres outside of Seville. The development of the project will include the turnkey construction of warehouses covering a total area of between 15,000 and 100,000m². The purchase price was not disclosed.

Sustainability plays a key role in the development of the project. As part of Aquila Capital’s strategy for sustainable and energy-efficient logistics investments, the logistics centres are planned to have solar panels on their roofs and to meet the criteria for BREEAM certification. In addition, Aquila Capital will compensate for the CO2 emissions resulting from the operation of the site for two years. The project is being implemented by Green Logistics, Aquila Capital's logistics business development division in Europe.

Rolf Zarnekow, Head of Real Estate at Aquila Capital, said: “With this second green logistics project, we are consistently pursuing our investment strategy for the Spanish market. We are pleased to offer our institutional investors an opportunity to benefit from the attractive growth opportunities in the logistics sector in Spain while having a positive environmental impact.”
