Amsterdam Airport Schiphol voted best airport in Europe (NL)

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has been voted 'Best Airport in Europe', by leading British magazine Business Traveller. Ron Louwerse, Director Safety, Security & Environment of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, received the prestigious award during the Business Traveller Awards 2008 ceremony, held in London on Monday afternoon. The other nominees were the airports Munich, Zurich and Copenhagen.

The British market is the most important market for Schiphol after the home market the Netherlands. Half of these passengers arriving at Schiphol disembarked, while the other half transferred to another flight. "We are honoured and proud that Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is valued so highly by the British business traveller," says Louwerse.

During the new winter schedule, which runs from 26 October 2008 up to and including 28 March 2009, eight airlines will be operating between Great Britain and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It concerns KLM, British Airways, VLM Airlines, BMI, BMI Baby, easyJet, flyBE and Jet2.com. Combined, these airlines operate up to150 scheduled daily flights.
