AMB Property Corporation pre-leases 10,800 m² in Bleiswijk development (NL)

AMB Property Corporation® (NYSE: AMB) has leased more than 10,800 m² in its AMB Bleiswijk Distribution Center development near Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The lease fulfills a new space requirement by a global manufacturing company that will use the facility to consolidate operations in the Benelux region.

"Our portfolio in Europe continues to deliver results, as highlighted by this latest development lease in Rotterdam, a successful market for AMB where our operating assets are 100 percent leased," said Anton van Vlerken, AMB's general manager, Benelux. "We are focused on meeting requirements for trade-centric distribution space and are encouraged that customer activity, though more moderate than last year, indicates continued demand for well-located facilities."

AMB Bleiswijk Distribution Center is located along a major logistics corridor of the Netherlands, with direct access to the A12 connecting the site to the Rhine-Ruhr region in Germany, and rapid access to the A4 which connects Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Belgium.

The Netherlands is one of the largest logistics and distribution hubs in the world, due in large part to the Port of Rotterdam which is Europe's largest seaport, bolstered in 2008 by a record level of goods throughput. The Netherlands, an economy focused on trade, is also home to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Europe's second largest airfreight handler.

As of December 31, 2008, AMB's portfolio of operating and development properties in the Netherlands totaled approximately 321,800 m², of which more than 160,500 m² is located in AMB's Rotterdam market.
