AMB Property Corporation acquires more than 25,000 m² of distribution space in Amsterdam (NL)

AMB Property Europe B.V., an affiliate of AMB Property Corporation®, has announced the acquisition of two buildings in a structured transaction. The facilities are located in southeast Amsterdam and are fully leased to DHL, a global AMB customer. AMB Arena Distribution Center 1 was acquired from Wereldhave N.V, and AMB Arena Distribution Center 2 was acquired in a sale-leaseback transaction from DHL Solutions (Netherlands) B.V. DTZ Zadelhoff acted as the broker on behalf of DHL in this transaction.

"This transaction in a high-demand market with limited supply of distribution space demonstrates AMB's ability to acquire facilities in strategic infill locations in Europe, consistent with our global strategy," said Mo Barzegar, AMB's managing director, Europe. "We plan to continue to expand our overall presence in the Amsterdam market so that we may continue to meet our customers' needs for distribution and warehousing space." AMB's portfolio of operating properties in the Netherlands totals approximately 215,000 m², of which more than 148,000 m² is located in and around Amsterdam.

The distribution centers, situated within the industrial zone known as Tradepark Southeast, are part of the Southeast Amsterdam submarket. This submarket and its accessibility have attracted a significant number of multinational companies which have located their offices in the area. The properties benefit from rapid access to the junction of the A1 highway (Amsterdam-Amersfoort), A2 (Amsterdam-Utrecht), and A9 highway (Amsterdam-Haarlem) and the A10 ring road.
