AM Vastgoed acquired shopping center Marktveldpassage in Vught from Rodamco Europe (NL)

AM Vastgoed BV has acquired the Marktveldpassage shopping center in the center of Vught from Rodamco Europe NV and placed it with a private investment company. The Marktveldpassage was acquired for €12.4 million.

AM intends to redevelop the shopping center into an even more attractive retail area in co-operation with other stakeholders.

The shopping center consists of some 4,750 m² of retail space and the tenants include Albert Heijn, Hema, Etos and Zeeman TextielSupers. There are 400 m² of office space on the first floor. A private investment company, Rutten Hilferink BV, has acquired the center as an investment and has also bought the eight rental homes above it from third parties. This transaction was managed by Basis Bedrijfshuisvesting BV, Leiden.

In the coming year, AM Vastgoed, in co-operation with the municipality of Vught, the current tenants and Rutten Hilferink will investigate how the existing shopping center can be redeveloped and enhanced in quality. The acquisition of the Marktveldpassage implements AM Vastgoed’s strategy to apply its development and redevelopment philosophy for urban centers and shopping centers in medium-sized and smaller towns in the Netherlands. These sites usually offer exceptional opportunities to enhance the quality of an area.
