AM alpha acquires landmark Copenhagen complex (DK)

AM alpha has completed the acquisition of the most prominent historical buildings in Copenhagen known as “The Square”. The landmark building is well-located in the very heart of Copenhagen directly situated on the City Hall Square being one of the hotspots with many attractions and cultural offerings nearby but also with direct access to the main shopping street Stroget. The property comprises a total GLA of c. 16,700m² used as an office, retail and residential premises. The building is let to a mix of tenants representing short to medium-term income.

 

The complex benefits from the transformation of the City Hall Square with the new circle metro line (M3) being completed end of 2019 including the metro station located 50 metres from the property, its frontage to H.C. Andersens Boulevard, the main arterial road through Copenhagen and numerous bus services nearby.

 

Designed by the architects Henrik Hagemann and Knud Arne Petersen and originally built in the period from 1893 to 1900 due to its baroque style exterior expression featuring facades it is one of the most iconic historical buildings in Copenhagen representing a unique medium-term re-positioning and re-development opportunity.
