aik expands its portfolio in Brussels (BE/DE)

aik Immobilien-Kapitalanlagegesellschaft mbH (aik) from Düsseldorf acquires another office property in the center of Belgium’s capital city. The building comprises more than 5,000 m² and was acquired on behalf of one of its real estate funds, launched for a German occupation pension fund, from a Belgian special -purpose vehicle named R+V Real Estate Belgium NV.

The property was built in 1974 and fully refurbished in 2000 and is located in Quartier Léopold right at Avenue des Arts. The location benefits from its proximity to various institutions of the European Union as e.g. the EU parliament and the EU commission and is also very attractive to regional headquarters of the EU member states, embassies and consular offices, law firms as well as branches of several companies.

The modern equipped office space of the well-visible corner building is predominantly let to several European chambers of commerce. Among others the main tenant European Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambres) as well as a representation office of the French chamber of commerce and industry chose the property as their company domicile.

“Brussels constitutes one of our selective locations in Europe among Vienna and Luxembourg. Our new investment was an exceptional chance which we happily took in order to complete our Brussels portfolio consisting of 9 buildings by this time.” comments Dr. Stephan Hinsche, spokesman of the aik management board. The real estate investment company from Düsseldorf specializes in investments of German pension funds and pursues a strategy oriented on secure investments since 1999.
