AEW Europe's Logistis I fund acquires an 11,000-m² freight forwarding platform (FR)

The Logistis 1 fund managed by AEW Europe, has acquired an 11,000-m² freight forwarding platform in the final phase of the Bonneuil en France logistics park development opposite Le Bourget Airport near Paris.

The development was initiated by AEW Europe for its Logistis II fund in 2002 in cooperation with the local development agency Semavo, promoter Sodearif (Bouygues Group) and constructor Brezillon.

The delivery of this new building, expected at the end of 2011, will bring the site's total surface area to more than 100,000 m², entirely let to logistics operators and freight forwarders (Actebis, Calberson-Geodis, DHL, SDV and TNT). This underlines the attractiveness of this park which benefits from an exceptional location with the A1 motorway nearby and Paris under 15 km away.

This new platform has been leased to Schenker Joyau (Deutsche Bahn Group) for 12 years, enhancing the development of its freight forwarding activities in the north of France and the Parisian region.

Schenker-Joyau delivers 150,000 packages in France every day, manages a fleet of 2,300 vehicles and employs 4,500 people in 62 agencies across France.

This transaction was carried out with the support of BNP Paribas Real Estate on the marketing side and by the Caisse Régionale de Crédit Agricole Mutuel de Paris et d'Ile-de-France (Crédit Agricole Group) on the financing side.

With this transaction, AEW Europe, key player in European asset management, reinforces its expertise in developing and managing logistics assets.
