ACTEEUM Group has entered into an agreement with Playland, the largest Turkish kids play area and bowling hall operator, member of Samanyolu Oyuncak Ltd. for six of its shopping center projects: Ancora Istanbul, Ancora Samsun, Ancora Kahramanmaraþ, Ancora Sanlýurfa, Ancora Tokat and Ancora Adana. The cooperation encompasses 9,165 m² in total and underlines the success of the Ancora projects as well as the focused strategy of Playland. The projects are planned to be opened in 2010-2012.
Ancora Istanbul, the shopping center with a leasable area of 105,000 m², will be developed on a site facing the Göztepe E-5 Highway in the middle of the strong catchment area of Istanbul's Asian side. Ancora Istanbul will not only be the region's biggest retail project but also the new upscale leisure and entertainment center.
Playland, the largest local kids play area and bowling hall operator of Turkey, has signed the leasing agreement for a total of 2,430 m² in Ancora Istanbul. The center will be opened in 2012.
Ancora Samsun, the shopping center project with a total leasable area of 63,000 m² will also feature a five-star Hotel and Congress Hall. It will be the largest shopping center of Samsun as well as of the Black Sea Region with an eye catching design on a centrally located site with excellent visibility and accessibility on the Black Sea Coast Highway.
The leasing process is progressing very well and the center is planned to open in 2011. Playland has signed a lease agreement for a total of 1,550 m²; Samsun's first kids play area and bowling hall.
Ancora Kahramanmaraþ is the city's largest shopping center project with a leasable area of 59,000 m². With its central location and modern architecture, Ancora Kahramanmaraþ will become the new meeting point in the region. Playland has entered into a lease agreement involving 1,185 m² representing the city's first and biggest kids play area and bowling hall. Ancora Kahramanmaraþ is planned to open in 2011.
Ancora Sanlýurfa is the city's largest, modern shopping center project with a leasable area of 47,000 m². With its contemporary silhouette it will meld in the city's historic texture in a convenient central location. Playland will lease 1,350 m² kids play area and bowling hall in Ancora Þanlýurfa that will open early 2011.
Ancora Tokat is the city's first and only shopping center, having a leasable area of 25,000 m². Opening in 2010, the project incorporates a 1,050 m² Playland kids play area and bowling hall.
Ancora Adana will have a leasable area of over 58,000 m²; combining the spaciousness and the heritage of the region with a central location in the Adana urban area. Playland has signed a lease agreement for a total of 1,600 m² kids play area and bowling hall. Ancora Adana is scheduled to open in 2011.
Despite the economic situation, the leasing process of the Ancora shopping centers progresses well. Next to Playland and Teknosa it is expected that also other tenants will sign lease agreements within the next months.
