ABN AMRO successfully completes acquisition of BethmannMaffei

ABN AMRO today successfully completed its acquisition of the BethmannMaffei bank from the HVB Group. This means that all the shares in the renowned private bank are now owned by ABN AMRO.

As announced on 10 December 2003, it is planned to merge BethmannMaffei with the private bank Delbrück & Co, which has been part of ABN AMRO since the end of 2002. The merger will take place in a few weeks. With assets under management totalling over EUR 10 billion and a well-established presence in all the important economic regions of the country. Delbrück BethmannMaffei will be one of the top five private banks in Germany.
