A planning application has been submitted for the £300m regeneration of Peruvian Wharf, a large development site in Newham, across the river from the Millennium Dome.
The plans were submitted by a consortium of offshore investors represented by Capital & Provident. The proposed development comprises 1,479 homes, 35% of which will be affordable housing, plus 600,000 sq ft of commercial space, including offices, a hotel, retail and leisure.
There will be additional landscaped open space and the creation of a new riverside walkway. A new street, Peruvian Boulevard, will link the site with a new DLR station, to be called West Silvertown.
The proposed development will be integrated with a covered working wharf, the first on the site since the 1960s.
Newham Council is considering the application, and a response is expected around the end of the year.
