?abka opens 100% green energy store in Warsaw (PL)

Polish retailer Żabka has unveiled its first 100% green energy store in the Białołeka district in Warsaw. The store features state-of-the-art technology focusing around green energy, recycling, clean air and green transport. The facility is a kind of laboratory in which the company will test innovative solutions, such as the quantum dot and kinetic floor.

"Zabka is one of the most dynamically developing retail chains in Europe, but only thanks responsible development, we can build our common future. We have changed the format of stores, we have undergone a digital transformation, but responsibility for the environment is equally important to us. We care about people and their environment, therefore, together with our franchisees, employees and clients, we undertake pro-ecological initiatives in the areas of green energy and transport, clean air and the circular economy. An example of such a project is the first Żabka, 100% powered by green energy, which we opened in Warsaw. The store will act as our laboratory in which we intend to test environmentally friendly solutions, showing the direction in which the future of trade will develop," said Tomasz Suchanski, President of the Management Board of Zabka Polska.

"We have installed around 20 different environmentally friendly solutions in the store and its surroundings. These are, among others: pioneering solutions, such as a kinetic floor or glass with quantum dots extracting energy from sunlight. We also tried to equip the store in the most ecological way - we used recycled furniture or built a wall of plastic bottles collected by the people working on this project. We are the first to test these solutions not only in trade but also in the world. We hope that the store, which was previously eagerly visited by local residents, will now also sow curiosity and encourage them to take pro-ecological activities. They will be able not only to see the solutions used in the store but also, as in the case of EKOmat," commented Adam Manikowski, Vice President of the Management Board of Zabka Polska.
