Workspace secures planning permission for the Tower Bridge business complex redevelopment (UK)

Workspace Group PLC, London's leading provider of space to new and growing companies, is pleased to announce that it has secured planning permission for the redevelopment of its property at Tower Bridge Business Complex, Clements Road, London SE16.


The redevelopment will provide 270,000 ft² (approx. 25,083 m²) of retained business space and 60,000 ft² (approx. 5,574 m²) of new business accommodation as well as 800 new residential units.


On completion the development will provide Southwark with a major mixed use scheme and its largest hub for small businesses. This business element is expected to support over 2,000 jobs.


The 12 acre site will become fully integrated into the local community with a 1 acre public park and new routes through the site which will link the 'Blue' Shopping Centre with Bermondsey Underground Station.


Commenting on the announcement, Jamie Hopkins, Chief Executive Officer said: "We are delighted to announce planning approval at our Tower Bridge Business Complex which is an important step in our continued redevelopment program. There is strong demand for tailored business space in the area and it is our firm intention to increase the number of jobs on site in order to benefit the local community. The development also provides a significant boost to both the capital value and rental income of the site."
