Westbrook Partners has acquired a predominantly office property in Berlin-Mitte. The vendor is a group of private investors. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The building, at Leipziger Strasse 124 on the corner of Wilhelmstrasse, was completed in 2005. It comprises a basement, ground floor and another 7 above-ground storeys. The asset also features an underground car park for 12 vehicles.

The building occupies an extremely prominent position, opposite the Federal Ministry of Finance and very close to the Bundesrat and the famous "Mall of Berlin" shopping centre. Potsdamer Platz, "Checkpoint Charlie" and the government quarter are all within easy walking distance. The property has excellent public transport connections, with underground line U2 and various train and bus routes. It boasts a distinctive glazed façade, an impressive atrium and several terraces. The office accommodation features cooled ceilings and individually controllable sun protection. The property is protected by a sprinkler system.

Ruben Herrmann, Managing Principal at Westbrook, comments on the acquisition: "By acquiring Leipziger Strasse 124, our fourth office property acquisition in Berlin, we have further strengthened our commitment to the German capital. We can provide tenants with highly attractive office space, at short notice, in one of Berlin's prime locations”.
