Valad opens new office in Düsseldorf (DE)

Valad, the European multi-let real estate investment manager, has opened a new German office at Heltorfer Strasse 6 in Düsseldorf, taking its German presence to five local offices.

The office opened on August 1, 2011 to serve tenants in Region West, which includes the metropolitan Rhein-Ruhr area, where Valad manages approximately 300,000 m² of real estate, as well as the greater Frankfurt region. Thomas Gurski, Senior Asset Manager, will head up the office working alongside Asset Manager, Konstantin Harnacke.

The new office was established following a strong six-month period of lettings activity for Valad in Region West during which approximately 54,000 m² of space was let, including 23,000 m² in lease extensions and renewals.

Highlights from the period include the letting of 7,070 m² of industrial space to Albert Klink GmbH and Jürgen Hartwig GmbH at Reutherstrasse 3, in Hennef; 4,551 m² of warehouse space at Harkortstrasse 12-32 in Ratingen to the Australian retail company, Cotton On; 4,113 m² of warehouse and office space at Reisholzer Werfstrasse 38-42, Düsseldorf, to Bau Rent Baumaschinen Mietservice GmbH and PCS Professional Conference Systems GmbH; and 1,268 m² of industrial and office space at Donatusstrasse 127-129, Pulheim, to HAVA-TEX Haustextilgesellschaft GmbH.

Danilo Hunker, Valad's new Head of Asset Management in Germany, commented: "We are looking forward to building on our recent successes in Region West with the establishment of Valad's new office in Düsseldorf.

"Located right in the heart of the Rhein-Ruhr region, the new office brings us closer to our tenant customers and the assets we manage in the area, allowing us to maximize our tenant relationships and on-the-ground local knowledge."
