UBS Asset Management's ("UBS-AM") Global Real Estate ("GRE") business has acquired the ‘A-Factorij’ office development in Amsterdam, on behalf of one of its clients, from Solidiam NV. The circa €30m acquisition represents GRE’s first in Amsterdam in almost a decade and builds upon its €350m Benelux portfolio.

A-Factorij is a 11,978m² loft-style development that was fully refurbished and extended in 2002 to transform what was a former bike factory, dating back to 1955, into a distinctive open-plan office scheme. Fully let to 13 companies operating within the creative sector, A-Factorij also benefits from 140 on-site car parking spaces and generous bicycle provisions.

Situated in Amsterdam Schinkel, two kilometres outside of the city centre, the former industrial area has been transformed in recent years into an emerging creative hub and home to a number of marketing agencies, fashion workshops and architectural firms, as evidenced by A-Factorij’s tenant roster. The asset is conveniently located with direct access to the A10 and A4 highways and within a 10 minutes’ drive of Schiphol international airport. It also benefits from good accessibility for employees travelling by bike, while two metro stations are within easy reach for those availing of public transportation.
