UniCredit announces that UniCredit Research will consolidate all of the Group's research activities. Thorsten Weinelt, currently Head of MIB Global Research, will become Global Head of Research of UniCredit Group and Marco Annunziata will become Chief Economist of the UniCredit Group with immediate effect.
UniCredit Research will report to the Head of the MIB Division, Edoardo Spezzotti, and will assume sole responsibility for all analysis and forecasts of macroeconomic trends and financial variables for the UniCredit Group, including economic, fixed income, foreign exchange, commodity, credit and equity research.
UniCredit Research will also consolidate the Group's research activities in Central and Eastern Europe, including all economists in our Central and Eastern European banks, who will have a functional reporting line into the Global Economics, Fixed Income/FX Department headed by Marco Annunziata, UniCredit's Chief Economist, in addition to a local reporting line.
This re-organization is a further step in the ongoing implementation of the Divisional Business Model within UniCredit Group. It allows exploitation of the full potential of UniCredit
