The bridge structure of the motorway intersection of TóPARK is lifted into place (HU)

Implementation of the motorway intersection of TóPARK city centre that has been under way since the autumn of 2009 has reached its most spectacular stage, during which the bridge structure arching over M1 is placed. Placement of the structure is going to take place in several phases. The first element was installed at the night from May 26th to 27th. Then, expectedly until the first week of June, the additional bridge structure elements will also be lifted.

During works traffic order modification is valid on the affected section of motorway M1, about which Autópálya Kezelõ Zrt. provides information continuously. Implementation of the more than HUF 2 billion (approx. €7.3 mln.) public purpose infrastructure development is going to be financed by TóPARK.

PORR Építési Kft. started construction of the direct motorway connection that links the area of the city centre's first phase with motorway M1 in September 2009. Since then, implementation has reached its most spectacular part, during which the steel structure of the bridge above motorway M1 is lifted into place.

Works will take place in several phases, expectedly within one-and-a-half weeks, from the last week of May until the first week of June, at night. The first element was installed at the night from May 26 to 27, 2010. The weight of the steel structure is almost 250 tons.

Installation of additional structures is also going to take place between 11.00 p.m. and 5.00 a.m. at night, causing the least possible hindrance to the order of traffic. Placement does not cause any obstacles in traffic during the day.

It is extraordinary that the intersection is not built as a state investment, but is totally financed by TóPARK despite the objective being transport infrastructure development of public purpose. Thus the investment exceeding HUF 2 billion is implemented from private capital.
