Friday 29 June 2012
Henrik Granström has been appointed new Managing Director of Newsec. He thus replaces Urban Edenström who was acting Managing Director during the spring.
In addition to his new role, Granström will continue to hold his current position as Vice President of the holding company Stronghold. Granström will assume his new position on July 1.

During the spring, Newsec decentralized its operations and expanded the country and company managers’ mandate and responsibilities in order to generate strong profitability and secure a leading position in each individual market in the respective geographical regions.

"We created a decentralized organization with entrepreneurial leadership during the spring. As a board member in several subsidiaries, Henrik has superior knowledge of Newsec’s entire business. In consultation with country and company managers, and based on our shared values, the right conditions are now in place for taking Newsec to the next level," says the CEO of Stronghold, Urban Edenström.

Henrik Granström, 39, with a consulting background in McKinsey, commenced his career at Stronghold in 2002 as an Executive Trainee. He was also the Managing Director of Datscha for a period of five years. Henrik Granström will assume his position on July 1, 2012, while continuing to hold his current position as Vice President of Stronghold.

"Newsec holds a unique market position and has strong operational management teams and boards in each country. In close collaboration with these units, I am looking forward to focusing on Group-wide issues and profitable growth," says Newsec’s incoming President, Henrik Granström.

Urban Edenström will thus resume his ordinary role as CEO of Stronghold and Chairman of the wholly owned subsidiaries Newsec, Niam and Datscha.
