The €25 million build-to-suit facility was completed in just 37 weeks and delivered to the customer an impressive 11 weeks ahead of schedule. The building, which is expected to be fully operational by July 16, 2012, marks H&M’s continued growth within Spain and across the rest of Europe.

The distribution center has been designed in line with the technical and environmental requirements to achieve the LEED ‘Silver Certificate’ (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

Jose de la Calle, Managing Director Gazeley Spain and Portugal, said: “This multi-million pound project has been a key development for Gazeley Spain. Working closely with H&M was vital from the offset to ensure we delivered the prime location, size and design that was required to meet the retailer’s exact business needs.

“Our expertise and experience to complete on budget and ahead of time ensured this development was a success and further cements our position as the industry’s leading build-to-suit developer.”

The building is to be let on a 24-year lease agreement.
