Sven Mathijssen appointed General Manager at ING Real Estate (NL)

ING Real Estate has announced that Sven Mathijssen (46) has been appointed General Manager at ING Real Estate Development effective 1 September 2007. He will be responsible for the French, Italian and UK markets and for expanding ING Real Estate's development activities into new markets.

Mathijssen joins from Dutch property developer Multi Vastgoed B.V. where he held the position of Director of Multi-Functional Developments carrying responsibility for the acquisition and commercial development of office projects for large end-users. He previously worked for Multi Development Corporation, the Netherlands, as Commercial Associate Director and was responsible for the acquisition and development of various large-scale, mixed-use real estate projects in the Netherlands as well as in Central and Southern Europe.

Prior to that Mathijssen held several senior management positions at Royal Ahold, including that of Director of Business Development for Ahold Central Europe. He was stationed in Singapore as Vice President Retail Development Asia Pacific in the mid 90s. His last position was that of Director of Franchising for Ahold Specialty Stores where he was responsible for the general management of the Etos franchising division.
