STRABAG RPS secures property management contract for 1,600 apartments (DE)

STRABAG Residential Property Services Berlin will be assuming the property management of a residential portfolio in Brandenburg of 1,600 residential units and a total area of almost 110,000 m² from 1 July 2015.
The apartments are located largely in the city of Potsdam and its direct catchment area. The portfolio also includes 442 garages and parking spaces. The client and owner is the German Institute for Federal Real Estate (BImA), which serves as the government’s property service provider. The contract has a term of at least three years with an option for renewal by the owner for a further two years. It has been agreed not to disclose the volume of the contract.
This was preceded by a pan-European invitation to tender in nine lots for the administration of a total of 25,000 BImA residential units throughout Germany. STRABAG RPS won the ‘Brandenburg’ lot. According to Managing Director Ingo Hackforth, this was the company’s ideal lot: “The location and structure of the portfolios ideally complement our existing portfolio. All 61 properties are in the direct catchment area of our Berlin headquarters and so we will be able to take optimal care of them.”
