Stefan Ermisch appointed to HVB Management Board (DE)

The Supervisory Board of Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank AG (HVB) has appointed Stefan Ermisch – Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Markets & Investment Banking Division (MIB) of UniCredit Group – to the Management Board of HVB, effective as of March 21.

In addition to his divisional function with UniCredito Italiano S.p.A. (UCI), he will be responsible in particular for the organization and integration of the global investment banking activities of the UniCredit Group within HVB. Ronald Seilheimer will remain in charge of the markets arm of the investment banking activities in his function as a member of HVB's Management Board.

UniCredit decided to pool the activities of the MIB Division in HVB not only at the operative level, but also in terms of company law.

Wolfgang Sprissler said: "In appointing Stefan Ermisch, we are taking account of the increasing importance of investment banking at HVB. In future, the entire global MIB Division of the UniCredit Group will be pooled together within HVB. We are pleased to have gained an outstanding, experienced manager in Stefan Ermisch for the management and integration of investment banking activities at HVB."

Stefan Ermisch has been COO of MIB within UCI since April 1, 2006. A focal point of his activity, among others, is the integration of the investment banking activities of UniCredit Group in the MIB division. From January 2004 until March 2006 he was CFO on the Management Committee of Bank Austria Creditanstalt.

Previously, he had been in charge of the Group Strategy and Development departments at HVB since 2003; from 1998 until 2003 he was responsible for HVB Group Investor Relations. From 1993 until 1998 he worked as an investment analyst for Merck, Finck & Co, Trinkaus & Burkhardt and West LB Research.
