Sponda's Ducat II office building in Moscow receives a BREEAM certificate (RU)

The Sponda Plc-owned Ducat II office building located in Moscow's city center, built in 1997, has been granted BREEAM® In-Use environmental certification with a 'Good' rating. The office building, located in a central area of Moscow at Gasheka 7, is home to numerous international law offices.

BREEAM® (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is an international environmental classification system developed in Great Britain which is used to evaluate the environmental impacts of buildings. BREEAM® In-Use, which is designed to measure the environmental loads of buildings which are already in use, is a three-part certification system for assessing a building, its maintenance or its use. In certifying the Ducat II office building, the building itself was the target of the certification.

Sponda's first certified property in Russia
By seeking certification for its properties, Sponda looks to offer its customers high-quality and environmentally friendly business premises. Sponda's objective is to apply for environmental certification for all of its newly developed properties, including those in Russia.

Ducat II is Sponda's first certified property in Russia, and only the second property in the whole country to be granted the BREEAM® In-Use environmental certificate.

"Properties certified according to international environmental standards are still a rarity in Russia. We began our own certification process as soon as the BREEAM® In-Use certification became possible in Russia," says Sirpa Sara-aho, Senior Vice President in charge of Russian operations.

Ducat II is part of a group of three modern office buildings. The property, which is nearly at full capacity, houses around 14,300 m² of A-class leasable office space and around 1,300 m² of retail premises as well as parking space for 143 cars.
