Skanska leases 12,200 m² at Atrium 1 (PL)

Skanska Property Poland has signed the largest lease agreement of recent years in the Central Business District of Warsaw for the Atrium 1 office building being constructed on the ONZ roundabout. The main tenant of the building will be Bank Zachodni WBK of the Santander Group.

The 12-year contract signed by the Bank and Skanska covers 12,200 m², making it the largest lease agreement in the Central Business District of Warsaw in recent years. Apart from the office space leased, the Bank is to create a flagship branch on the ground floor of the building.

"For Bank Zachodni WBK, Poland’s third largest bank, Atrium 1 was a natural choice. The Bank’s headquarters as well as a flagship branch will be located in the building. The location in the strict business center of Warsaw, combining prestige with modernity, will ensure a significant promotion impact and a strong brand exposure”, said Paweł Dziedzina, Property Business Management Director at Bank Zachodni WBK.

“The choice of Atrium 1 by such a renowned tenant as Bank Zachodni WBK is a great sign of recognition of our achievements in this new-generation office building, and we see it as another great success. The interest Atrium 1 has attracted results not only from the extremely advanced technologies we have applied, but also the quality of the office space itself, the high level of comfort it ensures and its excellent location. I am confident that Atrium 1, our showcase project, will join the ranks of the other Skanska office buildings that had been 100% leased and sold before construction was even finished,” said Arkadiusz Rudzki, Director of Leasing and Asset Management at Skanska Property Poland.

Apart from Bank Zachodni WBK, the tenants of the building include Skanska Property Poland and the commercial real estate services company CBRE, with whom Skanska is currently re-negotiating the lease agreement it signed earlier.

Atrium 1 offers a total of 18,000 m² of office and retail space. Construction is planned to be completed at the end of 2013.

CBRE advised the developer in the new lease transaction, while the Bank was represented by Colliers International.
