Schroders builds Nordic presence with senior hires

Schroder Property has appointed Ubbe Strihagen as Schroder Property's Director of Business Development for the Nordic region reporting to Mike Clarke, Schroders' Head of Property Distribution. The hire follows the appointment of Christoffer Sundberg as Schroders' Head of Property Fund Management for the Nordic region in July 2008.

Ubbe joins Schroders on 1st October from Aberdeen Property Investors in Stockholm, where he was International Director responsible for the firm's global business development and marketing. He will be responsible for Schroder Property's business development in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland. Ubbe will work closely with recently appointed John Harding, Business Development Director and Schroders' client relationship team based in Copenhagen.

In July 2008, Christoffer Sundberg joined from Aberdeen Property Investors, where he was Head of Fund Management, Finland responsible for the Aberdeen Real Estate Fund Finland L.P, as well as its Finnish fund management team.

Michael Clarke, Schroders' Head of Property Distribution, comments: "One of our key objectives following Schroders' acquisition of Aareal Asset Management last year was to strengthen Schroders' property business in the Nordics. This included strengthening our relationships with the Institutional investors in the region. Some of the Nordic institutional investors have been at the forefront of international diversification in real estate through unlisted funds. However, there are many who are at an early stage in their international allocations. Ubbe will use his extensive network of relationships in the region to increase awareness of Schroders' range of property funds and strengthen our Nordic business."
