Scandic to open new hotel in Copenhagen (DK)

Scandic has signed an agreement regarding the operation of a new hotel in attractive Norreport in central Copenhagen. The hotel, which will have some 100 rooms, a restaurant and a sky bar with breathtaking views of Copenhagen, is expected to open in 2020. The scheme is currently owned by ATP Ejendomme and is used as offices.

Scandic currently has ten hotels in operation in Copenhagen and will strengthen its position further in coming years. In addition to Nørreport, Scandic intends to open three attractive hotels in the Copenhagen area, with more than 1,300 rooms in total, between 2019 and 2021. The hotel market in Copenhagen is growing and has historically high occupancy.

"Norreport has long been a sought-after area with relatively few hotels. The new hotel will be an excellent complement to our Copenhagen portfolio. The innovative design will truly stand out, and we look forward to the opening," said Soren Faerber, Head of Scandic Denmark.
