REDEVCO Finland acquires prime property in Turku (FI)

REDEVCO Finland has purchased the Sampotalo building in Turku from Hartela for approx. €20 million. The property, which is fully let, is located at a prominent retail site on Yliopistonkatu, a pedestrian zone, and provides approx. 10,000 m² of retail and office space over seven floors. The property was constructed in 1938 and is a Turku landmark. The retail tenants include Lindex, JC, and If Insurance. The building also houses a cafeteria. The offices are let to Turku's city authorities on a fifteen-year lease.

Andrew Vaughan, Managing Director of REDEVCO UK/Nordics, says REDEVCO is very pleased to be able to acquire such a high-profile property in Turku. "Hartela has done a great job re-letting the vacant property." He added that "REDEVCO's presence in Turku reflects our commitment to expanding in the Nordic region. We will continue to invest in the Finnish market and build up longterm relationships with our tenants there, as elsewhere."
