Protego Real Estate Investors ("Protego"), the European real estate fund and asset management business, announced that it has appointed Frederike van Lowijde as Director - Business Development. Frederike will join Protego from 1 January 2008.
Frederike will be based in Protego's Rotterdam office and will be responsible for the development of real estate investment funds, reporting to Peter de Haas.
Frederike joins Protego from Achmea Real Estate, Amsterdam. As an investment manager for indirect real estate at Achmea, her responsibilities included the acquisition, management and disposition of European and Asian non listed real estate funds, on behalf of institutional clients as well as fund of funds. Achmea Real Estate has 12 billion invested in direct real estate, real estate funds and mortgages.
Prior to Achmea Real Estate, Frederike spent four years working for the tax council of Achmea. Here her remit included the establishment of real estate funds for retail and institutional clients, tax due diligence on non-listed international real estate funds and product development as well as the implementation of financial products, including derivatives.
