Prologis signs lease at Rotterdam Port (NL)

Prologis, Inc., the leading global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate, today announced that it has signed a long-term lease for nearly 14,000 m² in Eemhaven DC6 at the Rotterdam Port.

In addition, during the first quarter of 2012, Prologis also signed lease contracts at various strategically important locations across the Benelux.

Leasing activity during the first quarter of 2012
During the first quarter of 2012, Prologis signed contracts totaling approximately 57,000 m² in the Benelux.

Leasing activity in Rotterdam, which Prologis continues to consider a strong market, was solid during this period. In the Rotterdam area, leases comprising more than 16,000 m² were signed with several companies, including Rotterdam-headquartered Odin.

In addition to Rotterdam, the southern region of the Benelux also performed well in the first quarter. In the Belgian region of Antwerp, a new contract was signed in Willebroek for more than 15,000 m². In the Netherlands the southern cities of Tilburg and Moerdijk also experienced good demand, with total leasing of more than 25,000 m².

Acquisition
In March 2012, Prologis expanded its Docdata distribution centre in Waalwijk with the acquisition of 7,145 m² of additional logistics facilities. The complex, which was acquired last year, now measures approximately 30,000 m². Prologis handled this transaction on the behalf of its Prologis European Properties Fund II.

"The first months of 2012 have seen notable activity for Prologis, including deals with both new and existing clients," said Bram Verhoeven, Vice President for Benelux, Prologis.

"One of our principal properties is generating increasing interest and we are currently seeing occupancies increase in the overall portfolio. Given these factors we are cautiously optimistic for the future."

Prologis is one of the leading providers of logistics space in the Benelux, with 60 properties comprising approximately 1.1 million m² of space as of March 31, 2012.
