ProLogis leases 18,500 m² to Hellmann Worldwide Logistics (DE)

ProLogis announced that it has pre-leased 18,500 m² at a new distribution center it is building in Munich to Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, a global provider of logistics services. The facility will be developed at ProLogis Park München Neufahrn, a 42-acre industrial park located along southern Germany's A92 motorway immediately adjacent to the Munich airport. Hellmann will use the facility to provide logistics services for MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG, a leading international provider of commercial vehicles and transport solutions.

The Hellmann project marks the start of the third phase of construction at the park and is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2007. At full build-out, ProLogis Park Munchen Neufahrn will comprise nine buildings totaling more than 95,000 m² of distribution space.

"This lease underscores the importance of Munich as a distribution hub in central Europe," said Joerg Schroeder, ProLogis senior vice president and country officer for Germany. "We're very pleased that Hellmann selected ProLogis to serve as their distribution facilities provider in Germany and look forward to helping them achieve efficiencies throughout their logistics network in this region."

"ProLogis has been extraordinarily responsive during the planning process for this important project," said Karl Engelhard, member of the main board of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. "ProLogis Park Munchen Neufahrn offers numerous advantages to us as a distribution location and will enable us to deliver the highest levels of service to our customers."

Founded in 1871, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics today operates from 341 offices in 134 countries and employs more than 15,000 people. Hellmann also leases more than 13,000 m² from ProLogis at locations in Chicago and the Czech Republic.
