PNK Group signs the biggest deal on Saint Petersburg’s warehouse market (RU)

PNK Group, a leader of the Russian warehouse and industrial market, will construct a second multi-temperature warehouse for the company Verniy, with total area 43,000 m².

A new warehouse for Verniy, one of the most rapidly developing Russian grocery chains, will be located at class A+ industrial park PNK-KAD in Saint- Petersburg. Cushman & Wakefield advised the deal and according to it, this is the largest deal on the warehouse market of Saint- Petersburg in class A and A+ for the history of the market.

Previously, PNK Group and Verniy signed an agreement for building the same type of warehouse in Moscow at industrial park PNK-Sever. The construction of the warehouse in Saint- Petersburg will take at least one year. It’s planned that Verniy starts operations in its new warehouse in the Q3 2014.

Industrial park PNK-KAD has a great location: just 1.5 km from KAD by Sofiiskaya street, which provides great opportunities for goods distribution in Saint-Petersburg and all over the North-West region. The total area of the project amounts to 70,000 m² of high quality class A+ warehouse premises.

PNK Group is the leading company on the market in developing high quality class A+ warehouse projects in Russia. A few years ago, the company successfully implemented two projects in Saint-Petersburg. Signing the contract with Verniy marked the return of the developer to the Northern Capital, which will give a new impulse to the development of high quality warehouse market.

Oleg Vysotsky, Senior Executive Director, Verniy: “We are paying much attention to the logistics and the launch of the new warehouse in St. Petersburg, which will allow us to expand our chain in the North-West of Russia. The market of logistic services is still underdeveloped. Timely delivery of quality products to our stores directly from our warehouse is an important part of our strategy.”

Oleg Mamaev, Executive Director, PNK Group: “Nowadays, retail is the key and the most rapidly developing sector of the Russian economy. We are glad to propose our domestic retailer a project which meets high international standards. PNK Group is already constructing a multi temperature warehouse for Verniy in Moscow region at industrial park PNK-Sever and now we are pleased to continue our collaboration in Saint-Petersburg, the second most significant logistic hub of Russia.”

Ekaterina Sinitsyna, Associate, Warehouse and Industrial Department, Cushman & Wakefield: “PNK Group has found a complex solution for Verniy to build two distribution centers in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, which will support great expansion plans of the retailer. We are confident of that a large portfolio of projects in different regions of Russia, as well as the extensive experience in the implementation of technologically sophisticated warehouses combined with the short time of their implementation will help Verniy to organize its logistic scheme in a better way.”
