Planning permission successful for Skanska UK's first commercial project (UK)

Skanska successfully gained planning permission to develop the site at 11 to 19 Monument Street in the City of London.
Skanska acquired the site in 2012, with the intention of delivering around 85,000 ft² (approx. 7,900 m²) of grade-A offices and 3,000 ft² (approx. 280 m²) of retail space over nine floors by the end of 2015. Around 40,000 ft² of the office space is set to be occupied by Skanska UK.
The site is next to the historic Monument column which commemorates the Fire of London in 1666.
The design is by Ken Shuttleworth’s Make Architects. Savills has been appointed to bring the surplus office space to the market. Nash Bond has been appointed to market the retail accommodation.
Arup has been appointed as engineer and GVA is advising on planning.
