Industrial real estate developer and investor Panattoni Europe has been contracted to develop a complex logistics project for Schmalz + Schon in Waiblingen near Stuttgart.
With the extensive refurbishment of the existing two-storey building and construction of two additional new halls Panattoni Europe will create approx. 25,000m² of space for the logistics group. Construction will begin in March of next year by which time the old buildings will have been pulled down. Completion is scheduled for the end of September 2017.
Schmalz + Schon will be the long-term tenant. The existing building will remain in use during the refurbishment and building phase. “The result will be a modern new facility providing maximum flexibility for top-quality logistics solutions,” explains Fred-Markus Bohne, managing partner of Panattoni Europe. Schmalz + Schon is planning to increase its logistics activities and lay the foundation for further growth.
The site is located about 14 kilometres north-east of Stuttgart in Waiblingen-South in the Heerstraße industrial estate.
The facilities were acquired jointly by TH Real Estate and Palmira Capital Partners for the portfolio of the Investoren-Club-Fonds German Logistics.
