OSCRE: New Chair and Board Members (EU)

OSCRE is delighted to announce that it has a new Chairman and three new Board Directors. The appointments were made during Board meetings in London last week where OSCRE's 2011 Business Plan was also mapped out for review and approval by OSCRE's Executive Members.

The new Chairman is Ed Lubieniecki, Managing Director at RealFoundations.

Ed commented: "This is going to be an exciting year with a number of key initiatives coming to fruition, including our Investment Performance Reporting Standard. OSCRE's work will have a broad impact on the real estate market and demonstrate its ability to bring together diverse stakeholders in solving mutual information transfer challenges."

Stephen Spooner stood down as Chair after a two-year term but has been retained as a part time Executive Director with responsibility for Business Development. Paul Albone of TM Group is the new Vice Chair.

The Board's three new Directors are:

  • Alex Maries, Director – Chief Operating Officer (COO), Property & Asset Management (PAM), Jones Lang LaSalle;
  • John Bennett, VP (Europe), Yardi, and
  • Chad Wiech, Owner, Asset Record Company.

Alex Maries, Director – Head of Client Accounts at Jones Lang LaSalle said: "I am delighted as a Board Director of OSCRE to represent Jones Lang LaSalle in setting the strategy for OSCRE, and agreeing the standards needed in the real estate industry that will benefit property advisors and their clients. Having these standards facilitates the transfer of quality data in a consistent format between systems and landlords and their advisors, enabling advisors to focus on adding value to their clients."

John Bennett, VP Europe for Yardi said: "I look forward to working with my fellow board members to assist the development of open data standards, and I am backed by Yardi's full commitment to this effort. My goal is to help create standards that facilitate efficient business processes by eliminating the need for customized data transfers and unnecessary development efforts that divert resources from strategic operations."

Catherine Williams, OSCRE's Chief Executive said: "The real estate market has suffered a difficult few years and access to timely and accurate information has never been more crucial to good decision making and risk reduction.

"The engagement of organizations such as Yardi and Jones Lang LaSalle at the highest level is indicative of the increasing emphasis on information management as a strategic concern. "I am delighted to welcome our new Directors and look forward to working with them in 2011."
