A high quality 25,000m² mixed-use development in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland will open its doors in Spring 2020. The high profile 2.4-acre main street site, previously known as the ‘Florentine Centre’, has been the subject of a number of retail-led development proposals since 1996. In November 2016, Wicklow County Council – owners of the site – sought a development partner to realise the site's potential. Oakmount were appointed to develop the site in March 2018 and has already commenced the construction.
The 3-storey scheme will comprise space for 3 anchor tenants – one of which is reserved – in addition to 9 individual retail units, restaurant/cafe space, and 250 car parking spots. The plans also incorporate the development of a new urban street – accessed from Bray Main Street – and a central plaza with pedestrian access from Quinsborough Road.
Savills has been instructed as lettings agents and confirm that – in addition to the reserved anchor tenant – some substantial pre-lets have also been agreed with the market-leading Press Up Group. The company will be operating a 5-screen Stella cinema, an exciting new leisure concept, and the renowned Elephant and Castle restaurant.
Bray, with a rapidly increasing population exceeding, is the main commercial town serving the North Wicklow market and is well served by both the national road network, via the M11 and M50, and public transport via DART, national rail services and Dublin Bus routes. The town also has a strong tourist and heritage base, being the gateway to the Wicklow Mountains and South East.
