Neue Direktion Köln building fully let (DE)

HOCHTIEF Projektentwicklung and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have signed a lease for all of the rental space at the Neue Direktion Köln building. The European agency and its specialist staff from all over Europe will take up occupancy of the new headquarters during Q2 2016. This is the biggest lease agreement in Cologne since the maxCologne high-rise was let to Lanxess in 2011. Apart from offices, the Neue Direktion Köln building will contain a conference center and a cafeteria.

The Neue Direktion Köln building is housed behind the sandstone facade of the former administrative seat of the “Royal Railways Directorate Cologne”. The building, originally constructed at the beginning of the last century on the Rhine embankment in Cologne, is currently being demolished—apart from its landmark heritage elements—and will be rebuilt with an above-ground gross floor area of 26,000 m².
