Neinver has bolstered its commitment to sustainable construction and management by earning a BREEAM certificate during the design phase of its new Viladecans The Style Outlets centre in Catalonia and by renewing and upgrading its BREEAM-In Use certificate for Roppenheim The Style Outlets, in France. Neinver was able to boost the French property’s management rating to outstanding, becoming the first outlet centre in Europe to reach that certification level.

When Roppenheim The Style Outlets first earned BREEAM-In Use certification in December 2014, it got a score of excellent for the building itself and for the centre’s management. Just one year later, it has achieved the highest possible classification, which confirms Neinver’s excellence in sustainable management and its commitment to continual improvement.

In the past year, Roppenheim The Style Outlets implemented better energy management, efficient water management and a biodiversity plan, as well as transport upgrades, shuttle service, bike lanes, and services for cyclists and drivers, among other improvements.

In addition, the new centre that Neinver is developing in the Barcelona metropolitan area, Viladecans The Style Outlets, has earned one of the highest BREEAM design-phase ratings – very good. This certification confirms that the building is being designed to the strictest standards of sustainable construction in areas such as energy management, sustainability, users’ health and well-being, environmental impact of construction, land recovery and the outfitting of the building, including outdoor lighting and reducing consumption of natural resources.

As part of Neinver’s commitment to managing and developing its properties sustainably, Viladecans The Style Outlets is being planned and developed in an exemplary fashion. The achievements include a B energy rating for the building, thanks to proper insulation and the installation of energy-efficient systems using renewable energy sources. The measures incorporated into the building’s design included the installation of motion sensors, the selection of energy-efficient lifts and smart escalators, installation of solar panels and the use of renewable energy for the building’s operation, thus helping to reduce CO2 emissions.

Among other environmental improvements, the Viladecans The Style Outlets building will produce hot water using recycled energy from the ventilation system, and will use rainwater in the drip irrigation system. Additionally, natural light illuminates more than 80% of the centre’s floor space. The property also features other means of reducing and recycling the waste it generates.
