NCC Construction AS in Norway is to continue the expansion of central Arendal. The company has concluded a contract with Sanden AS regarding the implementation of the second phase of construction of the AMFI Arena Shopping Center. The order is worth nearly SEK 154 million.

NCC is currently in the process of finalizing the first phase, consisting of a total of 20,000 square meters of shopping center and residential floor space. Work on the second phase of construction, which entails an additional 15,000 square meters of floor space, will commence in April 2006.

Phase II will mainly comprise the shopping center, which is scheduled for completion by July 1, 2007. In addition, the assignment includes 48 apartments and the refurbishment of an existing parking building. The apartments are scheduled for occupancy on March 1, 2008.

The contract consolidates NCCs position as a major player in the city. The customer has entrusted us with an important project, since the expansion will significantly change the urban profile of central Arendal, says District Manager Jørn Otto Gundersen from NCC Construction Norway.

The project will be registered among orders during the second quarter of 2006.
