NCC secures €26.7m Stockholm housing project (SE)

NCC has been commissioned by Familjebostader to construct 144 rental apartments in Alvsjostaden, south of Stockholm. A project is a turnkey contract in partnering form with an order value of approximately €26.7m (SEK 280m). Alvsjostaden is a major urban development area comprising a total of approximately 1,500 housing units in three phases. The well-planned units will range from studios to four-bedroom apartments with balconies or terraces. The project work is proceeding in accordance with Alvsjostaden’s environmental and energy plan, and the housing units are being built to the Sweden Green Building Council Silver level, which places strict demands on such features as low energy consumption, proper ventilation and good materials selection. Construction is scheduled to start in June 2020 and the first tenants are expected to take up occupancy in summer 2023.

“Familjebostader is currently constructing a record number of apartments and Alvsjostaden is our largest urban development area. We are pleased to begin work on the new Jordkabeln district. The housing units here will be built to a high standard and the area will offer a number of mobility services, making it easy for our tenants to live without owning a car,” said Hakan Siggelin, Head of the Project Development Department at Familjebostader.

“Our ongoing project Kabelverket is a highly successful partnership with Familjebostader and we look forward to continuing building in this new and sustainable city district in southern Stockholm,” commented Henrik Landelius, Business Area Manager of NCC Building Sweden.
