10th July was the closing date of the international call for tender for redevelopment of the ex-Ticosa area in Como. The job was assigned to Multi Development (formerly AM Development BV) with its 15 million tender and plan by the Dutch architecture studio T+T Concept Design, with consultancy by Favero & Milan Ingegneria, Studio Archea, Systematica, Studio Novati and Studio Cattaneo.
This call for tender for redevelopment of the area was put out by the Local Administrative Authorities, supported by the advisory body Sviluppo Sistema Fiera, the engineering and contracting company that coordinated transformation of the entire Milan trade fair system, creation of the new Rho-Pero Complex and definition of the new urban layout for the historic Fiera Milano district.
The area in question covers 41,800 m² and plans include residential units, management, retail, public offices, hotel and accommodation, recreation and catering, areas dedicated to local district offices, culture and displays. The project is scheduled to complete in 2010.
