Around €80 million is being invested in the project.

Demolition of the former Marks & Spencer building will begin mid-October 2011. Delivery is scheduled for spring 2014.

New Hague Passage
The New Hague Passage is a new, high quality, connection between Grote Marktstraat and the Spuistraat and integrates seamlessly with the existing Hague Passage.

Large-scale modernization process
The New Hague Passage, is a major highlight of the modernization process of Grote Marktstraat, traditionally the key route to The Hague's prestigious retail chains and high level facilities. The City of The Hague and the Spuimarkt Development Organisation has constructed several large projects in the downtown area including the tram tunnel and the Rabbijn Maarsenplein and Spuimarkt buildings which are part of the overall Spuikwartier development. The redevelopment of the Grote Marktstraat into a shopping boulevard will now commence.

Improved regional role
Retail formulas in the New Hague Passage constitute a mix of national and international leading retailers. The Sting, Parfumerie Douglas, Intertoys and Miss Etam are among the early signers.

Transparent building
The concept for the New Hague Passage is by T + T Design, Multi's in-house design company. Architect Bernard Tschumi has elaborated the concept with a light, open and transparent building design. The passage has a glass shade fifteen meters high.

Investment
Real Estate Asset owns the stores. Accor Hotels NL is the owner of the four-star hotel. Realization of the New Hague Passage represents an investment of around €80 million.
