Minerva plc appoints Oliver Whitehead as Chairman designate (UK)

Minerva plc, the FTSE 250 property development company, is pleased to announce that Oliver Whitehead CBE, currently Chairman of Alfred McAlpine plc, will join its Board as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman designate.

Minerva announced on 19th April 2006 that Andrew Rosenfeld had informed the Board of his wish to stand down as Non Executive Chairman. It is proposed that Oliver Whitehead will assume the position of Non-Executive Chairman at the Company's Annual General Meeting in November 2006.

Oliver Whitehead has been Non-Executive Chairman of Alfred McAlpine since 2003 and prior to that was Chief Executive from 1993. Before joining Alfred McAlpine he held several senior executive roles with Babcock International plc, AMEC plc and John Laing plc.
