Michael Kors to open flagship store on Regent Street (UK)

The Crown Estate announced that they have signed a lease with Michael Kors to open its first flagship store in England, on London’s renowned Regent Street, in autumn 2015. Situated in a landmark building on Regent Street the new Michael Kors store will combine the best of two worlds, an historic façade with a chic, modern interior that showcases the brand’s glamorous aesthetic.
We are investing £1 billion (approx. €1.2 billion) in Regent Street and the new store will be in the latest redevelopment, W5, currently under construction. It will measure nearly 15,000 ft² (approx. 1393 m²) set on three floors and will reflect the brand’s global flagship strategy. Regent Street marks the debut of the Michael Kors men’s collection in the brand’s own retail stores in Europe, following the opening of the SoHo flagship in New York in an environment tailored expressly for men.
David Shaw, Head of the Regent Street portfolio said: “We’re delighted that Michael Kors will be opening in our latest development on Regent Street, a name synonymous with luxury, style and high quality craftsmanship – attributes that perfectly complement Regent Street’s position as a world class shopping destination for global brands and flagship stores.”
“Regent Street is the ideal location to open our largest Michael Kors store in Europe,” says John D. Idol, CEO of Michael Kors. “It’s a vibrant and exciting street, and a global shopping destination. Regent Street is the perfect place to open a flagship store and present our men’s retail concept to Europe.” Source: The Crown Estate
