Schlossberg Center in Marburg changes hands (DE)

In a structured sales process, Prelios Immobilien Management found a new owner for the Schlossberg Center in Marburg, Germany. This was preceded by restructuring and optimisation of the basement floor retail rental space, numerous rental agreement extensions and modernisation of the centre’s technology. The seller is a German special fund. Confidentiality was agreed regarding the buyer as well as the purchase price. The closing took place at the end of June. Prelios Immobilien Management will continue to manage the centre on behalf of the owner.

The Schlossberg Center in Marburg’s city centre was created in 2001 after the renovation of the former Horten department store, which opened in 1973. Tenants of the approximately 8,000m² retail space and more than 4,000m² office space in the Universitatsstrasse property include Lidl, C&A, Vero Moda, Jack & Jones, AOK Hessen, New Yorker, and Deichmann

Martin Morl, Managing Director of Prelios Immobilien Management, explained: “After the last three years that we have been working on modernising the centre’s technology, extending numerous rental agreements and optimising rental space especially on the basement floor, we now found a new owner for the shopping centre on behalf of the seller in the form of a structured sales process. We are pleased to be able to continue to continue centre and project management for this property, which consists of more than 12,000m² of retail and office space.”
