LaSalle Investment Management European Co-Head Charles Maudsley to join British Land (UK)

Charles Maudsley, Co-Head of Europe for LaSalle Investment Management, will be leaving the firm to join British Land plc, where he will take on the position of Director of Business Expansion and become a main board member of the FTSE 100 listed property company. Simon Marrison, who has led LaSalle's business in Continental Europe since 2001 and is a 23-year industry veteran, will expand his role and become sole head of LaSalle's business across Europe.

Commenting on these changes, Jeff Jacobson, LaSalle's Global Chief Executive, stated: "Charlie is a good friend and trusted partner in our business who we will greatly miss. British Land is a great company, and his new role will allow him to concentrate his efforts and talents exclusively on investing in the UK market in contrast to some of the broader fund raising, investor relations, and general management responsibilities that were part of his current role. We wish Charlie success in his new role, and look forward to working with him in the future as opportunities arise."

In discussing his expanded role, Simon Marrison said: "I have enjoyed working with Charlie in leading our European business over the past five years, and will miss his enthusiasm, humor and sound judgment. Looking forward, I am very excited about having the opportunity to lead the entire European business and am confident that we will continue to grow our position as one of the leading real estate investment managers in Europe.

"With over 240 employees in Europe including 140 located in the UK, we have a robust platform that is well suited to serve our investor clients in this environment. Our UK management team is very deep, led by Alan Tripp, who is a 25-year veteran of the UK property industry with a long track record of strong investment performance and a team of fund managers who average 25 years of experience."

In describing his decision, Charles Maudsley said: "I have hugely enjoyed my five years at LaSalle Investment Management, and in particular the friendships formed with Jeff, Simon and my many other talented colleagues in the UK and around the globe. I am proud of what we have achieved over the last five years in growing the business and delivering superior investment performance for our clients. LaSalle is one of the best global Real Estate Investment Managers and has a fantastic future. I wish all of my colleagues great success in building upon this industry leading platform.

"For my part, a unique opportunity has arisen to join the Board of British Land, one of the great British property companies. I am very excited about joining forces with my former colleague at Axa, Steve Smith, and being part of Chris Grigg's team that builds on the fantastic past, and drives the future performance of British Land".

Final details of transition and timing of Charles Maudsley's departure are still being determined. However, Charles Maudsley, LaSalle and British Land are all committed to an orderly transition that best serves the interests of LaSalle's clients and employees.
