Land Securities has announced that it has forward sold 20 Gillingham Street, the private residential block in the Wilton Plaza development in Victoria, to an Irish Fund.
20 Gillingham Street is part of the Wilton Plaza redevelopment mixed-use scheme currently under construction, which will provide retail space, private and affordable housing, and also student accommodation for University College London.
Commenting on the sale, Mike Hussey, Managing Director of Land Securities' London Portfolio, said: "We are pleased to have put in place the final piece in the Wilton Plaza jigsaw puzzle. It has allowed us to deal effectively and profitably with land use issues across our West End portfolio and should be an exemplar for other large scale developments in the City of Westminster."
Jones Lang LaSalle Residential acted for Land Securities and the Irish Fund acted direct on the transaction.
