Klövern acquires Globen City (SE)

Klövern has today signed an agreement with The Carlyle Group to acquire Globen City, including the Arenan 2, 3, 6 and 8 properties, as well as the Startboxen 3 property in Solna.


Catella has acted has as advisor to The Carlyle Group in the sale of Globen City and Startboxen. The buyer was property company Klövern, and the purchase price amounted to SEK 3.8 billion (approx. €430 million). The sale is the largest transaction completed in Sweden thus far in 2014.


“The sale of Globen City is the largest transaction so far this year, so it is clearly prestigious for us to have completed the sale with a good outcome,” says Anders Nordvall, head of the Swedish property advisory services.


“We have noted broad interest from both Swedish and international investors during the sale process, which demonstrates the attractiveness of Stockholm and the Globen area,” says Thomas Persson, Catella’s project manager for the transaction.

The Swedish property advisory services have approximately forty employees and have offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.
